Wasps, interviews with a dog and a lock-in at the Bookies

Posted on by

Elliot TannerA new start is always welcome at any company, bringing a freshness and vitality, not to mention an affliction with a particular football team, but we won't mention that, not when we have so many other things to tell you about, including the wasp, the disaster with the alarm at Ladbrokes and how Besos the dog helped him get the job.  But let Elliot tell you himself...

Name: Elliot Tanner

Position:  Recruitment Consultant

Biggest influence on your career to date?
My Dad, always offers advice (good or bad) on whatever situation in the past I’ve required advice on.

Funniest thing you’ve seen at work?
Without a doubt Fraser’s reaction to a wasp coming into the office - absolutely priceless!!

Biggest disaster anywhere at work?
While working for Ladbrokes in my first shift closing up the shop I locked the doors and switched on the alarm to release I hadn’t opened or counted any money in the machines.. After re-entering the shop I could not disable the alarm which caused me to spend my evening on the phone to the alarm company until 11:30:  safe to say I always double checked after my first experience!

Best toy you had as a child?
Scalextric - always having cars buzzing about the living room and flying off everywhere.

If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you’d buy?
Definitely Hearts, a return to the Champions league is well overdue...(is this Fantasy Football? - Ed)

Why did you join Peace?
From my first interview the positive vibe I picked up from the office stuck in my head - and still does. The chance to specialise in a new and interesting sector was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss out on!

What were the first impressions of the company?
Friendly, especially Besos the dog who lay next to me in my interview!  A company which is successful, with a real knowledge of its market and the drive to enable me to succeed in my career in recruitment.

Who in the Peace office makes you laugh, and why?
Martyn Aitken, with his continued ability to rant and moan about something new every day!
