My favourite question in these interviews is usually the "biggest disaster at work" one, but in recent times this has always involved a previous/student job working in a bar and spilling drink over someone. Apart from being a reminder to sit a long way from these people at the Christmas party, it was getting boring, so we've introduced a 'no spilt drink' rule now. Now I don't know if Scott has spilled drinks over anyone, but his "biggest disaster" is a great one that anyone who has ever had a paper round can relate to... (Ed).
Name: Scott Houston
Job title: Recruitment Consultant
Why did you join Peace?
I feel part of a company that is going places. And the new challenge within a good team of people.
What other jobs have you done apart from being a recruiter?
What is the funniest thing you’ve seen at work anywhere?
First job at 13, paper round. Mum wouldn’t let me play football until all hundred-odd were delivered. So I dumped them in Echline Woodland. Not aware of gale force winds predicted that night... traffic police had to shut the Forth Road Bridge the following morning due to “thousands” of papers blowing over the carriageways. Not my finest moment but was a wee bit funny once the dust (and ink!) settled.
Favourite food and drink?
There is not much food and drink I don’t like, but if I had to live off something, Chinese & Wine
Favourite holiday destination – and why?
Thailand – Seeing is believing.
What do you do to relax?
I watch football… although sometimes makes me less relaxed. So beer occasionally helps.
Who in the Peace office makes you laugh, and why?
Bezos (Chris Peace's dog - Ed). Only gives me attention when I have ham.
Favourite (non-work) website and why?
Google is a handy wee thing but I am prone to a browse on Pro Direct Soccer (there is a bit of football theme here - Ed).
If you were President of the World, what’s the first thing you would do to change things for the better?
I'd scrap tax and extend weekends - No work on Mondays!
