Peace Recruitment is working with a successful Global Cost Consultancy based in Edinburgh, supporting their search for an experienced and professional Associate Director Quantity Surveyor to join their bustling Edinburgh office. This position should be considered by an Associate Director looking for a fresh challenge, or even a Senior QS with a strong market presence, looking to take their first step to Associate level.

This opportunity will allow you to work with and lead a team of knowledgeable Quantity Surveyors, giving them the necessary support while simultaneously learning from them and developing your own skills in a management role. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Partner, contributing to the progression of the business as a whole.

You will play a key part in the full cost management service function of this large global consultancy, covering project lifecycle from initial conception, through to design and procurement process, then onto site delivery and commissioning phase.

Experience & Responsibilities required from you:

  • MRICS with considerable post-chartered experience in a PQS firm
  • Ability to formulate and execute a Business Development strategy
  • Understanding of a verity of sectors, Healthcare, Commercial, Education, Residential and Industrial 
  • Fee generation
  • Pre & post contract experience
  • Cost Planning
  • Feasibility Estimates 
  • Procurement
  • Competent in using Excel based systems
  • Ability to work to often demanding deadlines
  • An understanding of the Risk/VE processes
  • Experience and understanding of standard construction contracts, particularly SBCC, JCT and NEC
