Peace Recruitment is working with a Scottish business to recruit a Commercial Director or Associate to join their team. This company has a reputation of providing excellent service in every aspect of security and manage assets over £1Bn in value throughout the UK. They primarily focus on security within construction, retail and corporate sectors and provide a tailored approach to clients ranging from SME’s to multinationals.

Based in their Head Office in Glasgow and working closely with the other 4 directors, you will assume responsibility for all commercial aspects of the company’s business units. You will support each business division, plan and manage departmental budgets, analyse financial performance, advise the Senior Management Team and implement recommendations to achieve the most profitable results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational Efficiencies and Effectiveness - Influence the efforts, results, and success of the company's commercial activity and long-term strategy 
  • Support senior personnel to develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
  • Review contracts to identify onerous conditions or risks and understand customers’ requirements to ensure their needs are being met                                                                                                                                                         
  • Tender Presentations and Maximising Opportunities - Assist in acquiring new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.), identifying risks and balancing risks and return
  • Assist in financial forecasting and planning process, budget development and monitoring performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)                                         
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers and professional advisors

The successful candidate will have a proven track record at Commercial Manager/Director level previously and must be able to demonstrate the ability to maximise opportunities with new and existing clients. The role has a strong focus on financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting, therefore you will ideally be educated to a degree level within business management and/or finance. Due to the national remit of the vacancy travel will be required at times, therefore a clean drivers license is essential.
