I am working with a large construction group who are looking for an electrically bias maintenance engineer to join their in-house team in Edinburgh. The main purpose of this role is to undertake electrical and other planned and reactive maintenance throughout a busy and high-pressure site, as directed by operational management and the customer service centre.

You will be part of a small maintenance team dealing with the planned maintenance of building fabric, reactive repairs of commercial mechanical/ plant equipment, electrical building services and associated apparatus. This role will be based in a hospital in Edinburgh, so experience in a similar environment would be an advantage.

The role is on a shift-pattern basis over an average 42 hour week. There are on-call opportunities where you will be paid a higher rate and a fixed on-call rate whether you are called out or not.

Am I suitable?

  • You will be qualified to the 17th/18th edition electrically
  • You will be a multi-skilled engineer with a good understanding of most basic trades
  • You will be able to clear a PVG disclosure check
  • You will have previous experience in a high-pressure facilities management environment
  • You will have experience managing tasks with tablets/ PDA systems
  • A full clean driving licence is required as you may need to visit other sites and suppliers
