Do you want your work to make a difference?  Do you enjoy being part of an inclusive team where respect for people is a priority?   Then my client is the place to be.   You will be the Team Manager (TM) for my clients Structures teams within their successful Transportation business. It is imperative that you have Bridge Design experience for this position, as the role will be split 70% Technical and 30% Business Management.

The TM is responsible for and manages the teams’ day to day operations and has accountability for the team’s financial results (P&L), clients, projects and people.  You shall be an active participant within the Department’s leadership team, ensure development of their team, and lead their team to achieve agreed goals. The TM shall implement and ensure that the team complies with my clients Business Ethics, policies and guidelines.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

?Management of the team’s day to day operations based on;

  • Business plan goals and action plans
  • Financial results and budget
  • Resource Planning and coordination between teams
  • Ensuring Project Managers have sufficient competence in Project management to deliver the team’s projects

Management of the team’s long-term development based on;

  • Customer and market development, organisation capabilities based on, customer feedback, and Employee Survey

Management and development of the team’s business by;

  • Creating and developing relations with our clients
  • Planning and implementing customer activities
  • Leading tender work for the team’s projects
  • Systematically review and mitigate risks in projects

 

 

Management and development of the team’s people when;

  • Planning for and ensuring resources for the team’s needs
  • Ensure you have the right colleagues in the right place at the right time to maximise business performance
  • Supporting and coaching personnel on prioritising and focusing in their day to day operation

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Contractual experience, with working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience of Business Development (including development and implementation of Strategy Plans) 
  • Leadership of client relationships including maintaining strong personal relationships
  • Leadership of large, multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Successful experience of leading bids
  • Experience of financial, resourcing, programming software
  • Ideally strong technical experience across a breadth of engineering consultancy/design projects.

?Professional Membership and Qualifications:

  • A Chartered Engineer with current membership of an appropriate professional body
