Senior Chartered Building Surveyor (Development Management Consultancy) Edinburgh Unit 2 Washington Court, 6 Washington Lane Scotland EH11 2HA Peace Recruitment >GBP £45,000 - £55,000 15725 Permanent Building Surveying 09/01/2020

Peace Recruitment is currently working with a well-established Development Management Consultancy, recruiting for a unique opportunity within their Edinburgh office.

Due to an increase in workload my client is looking for a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their already successful team. Within this opportunity, you will be given the support and training to develop your skills in roles such as Project Management and Employers Agent, etc.

My client is very different to other consultancies within the market, as they provide first-class understanding & expertise in areas such as Development and Investment opportunities, including Land Acquisition and Asset Management. These services are provided alongside the more common areas of Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Employers Agent & Building Surveying.

The types of projects you can expect to be involved in will be Leisure & Hotels (including a very well-known global brand), Bespoke Residential, Retail Outlets, Restaurants and Care Homes to name but a few, experience in these areas would be advantageous. The value of these projects will range from between £500k - £150m. Due to my clients' ability to pick and choose the work they get involved in; they do not have to bid for work as is often the case with consultancies.

This unique vacancy would fit an individual who is either looking for a change from a conventional Building Surveying role or keen to look at different areas acquiring a range of new skills and expertise in the process. You should be a very dynamic individual that can turn your hand to areas, possibly never previously explored, with the right support and development pathway in place to assist. The ideal candidate would be from a consultancy background and chartered.

  • Ability to prioritise workload, react to changing circumstances and work with others
  • Experience in construction quality monitoring and dilapidations desirable, but not essential

  • Willing to travel throughout the UK

Workload:

  • Full spectrum of professional services expected of a Building Surveyor in private practice

  • Management of projects including backlog maintenance, lifecycle replacement, fit out and external repairs
  • Exposure to fee proposal and bid preparation
  • Co-ordination of sub-consultants

  • Business development and networking opportunities

In return:

  • A tremendous role within a forward thinking, laterally structured organisation
  • Basic Salary £45,000 to £55,000 DOE
