Peace Recruitment is delighted to be working alongside a leading nation-wide consultancy to help them build their Town planning team across the UK – specifically in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

This organisation work predominantly alongside local authorities and have a huge variety of projects for the successful candidates to work on alongside the existing team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record and be able to provide a strong portfolio of work and projects within a similar environment. In terms of level this organisation are looking for people from Graduate up to Principal Town Planner so there are opportunities at every level to join this award winning team.

Day to day duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • processing major planning applications concisely, accurately and in a timely manner
  • undertaking pre application discussions on major proposals
  • preparing and presenting evidence on appeals
  • negotiating with applicants and agents to obtain a high quality outcome
  • positively supporting and sharing your knowledge with your team
  • getting involved with service improvements to make your team as effective and efficient as possible.  

What do you need for this opportunity?

  • MRTPI or working towards membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
  • relevant experience as a Town Planner working in either the private or public sector.
  • the ability to manage your own time and meet challenging deadlines
  • excellent knowledge, understanding and application of current and emerging planning legislation
