Supply Chain Manager – Transmission & Distribution

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to support the successful delivery of major Transmission & Distribution (T&D) infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the supply chain strategy for critical electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
This role is critical in supporting large-scale power and energy projects, including substations, overhead lines, underground cable systems, and grid infrastructure works. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure commercial efficiency, supply continuity, and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain and procurement strategies for T&D projects.
- Manage sourcing, supplier selection, tendering, negotiation, and contract award processes.
- Lead procurement activities for key project components including transformers, switchgear, cables, steelwork, protection systems, and construction services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics providers.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality, and delivery schedules to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including material shortages, logistics delays, and market volatility.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to align procurement activities with project schedules and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual obligations, and relevant industry standards.
- Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities for value engineering and supply chain optimisation.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting dashboards, and supply chain performance metrics.
- Coordinate expediting, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management activities where required.
- Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices throughout the supply chain.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7–10 years of supply chain or procurement experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, or construction sectors.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Transmission & Distribution, power, or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
- Experience managing complex supply chains involving long-lead electrical equipment and construction services.
- Understanding of project delivery environments including EPC, EPCM, or utility frameworks.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
